G.I.R.L.

We have a new girl in the family.

I knew I wanted to make something practical, but unique.

I went to one of my FAV fabric stores:

I ordered up some organic cotton...aaahhh...sooo soft!

When I received my new fancy organic cotton fabrics, I went to my fabric cupboard. When I'm at Joann's I always scope out their remnants and get fabric CHEEEAAAPPP!!! I have had some pretty flannels and chenilles hanging out in the cupboard waiting to be loved on.

I finally had the perfect project for them!

Burping Cloths!!!
I've seen friends carry these burping cloths and randomly online. Easy enough and SUPER practical!

A pretty and unique practical baby gift!!!

Who's the baby Girl???

You'll find out later....stay tuned!

This Little Light of Mine

One song I remember so clearly from growing up is, This Little Light of Mine.

I remember singing this in Sabbath School, pretending my "mr. pointer" (aka index finger) was a candle, and not letting it be blown out by the devil.

Emily Jones Design Company has the cutest art prints HERE

Several months ago I fell in love with this print because it reminded me of Sabbath School, how we need to be who God intended us to be, and share the Good News with others.

Matthew 5:14-16

"You are 'the light' of the world. A city set on a hill can not be hidden. Nor do men light a lamp, and put it under a peck-measure, but on the lampstand; and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven."

This color goes well with our laundry room and I thought this would make a nice reminder when leaving our home to reflect one.

Next to our laundry room garage door we have this laughter print hanging. It's really cute, but not totally the style of the room. I FINALLY picked up a frame from Home Goods!!! Took long enough eh?!?!

Insert new art print to view just as we're leaving our home to go out into the world! I love it!

Emily has a lot of other FAB prints and you should get yourself over to her shop to take a peek!!!

I have one more to give a home......

Fruits of the Spirit....kitchen eh?

When In Rome

What does that post title have anything to do with what I am about to post????

Rome = Roman
Roman = Blinds

But what does Roman have to do with Blinds??? Yea, I don't know either. Probably should google that.

LOL

So I have this window in our laundry room. I don't want to name names, BUT we have this very evil sweet  kitten who "MIGHT" have attacked our blinds and destroyed them.

Don't Judge, but this is how I've been using the blinds...totally sophisticated!!!
That's a high end chip clip I'll have you know!!! And the strings hanging (hard to see), I'd like to call that an embellishment. No, they are NOT broken strings which once helped move the blind up and down!!! Ok...maybe.

I am totally IN LOVE with fabric roman blinds.

And I love fabric!

I once had custom window treatments priced...UM...ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!

So, I have decided to take a shot at making them myself.

I've had this fantastic fabric for a couple months now...
Yes a couple months.
I'm COMPLETELY intimidated by the project. I found this, what is said to be "easy", tutorial and am just waiting till I have the nerve to give it a try.

Any tips out there to help a chip clipped windowed girl???
